The Georgia Bar Exam is a 2-day examination. Day 1 consists of two 90-minute Multistate Performance Test (MPT) questions in the morning and four 45-minute essay questions in the afternoon. Day 2 is the Multistate Bar Exam (MBE), a 200-question, multiple-choice exam, where 100 questions are offered in the AM, and another 100 -- in the PM.

Business Organizations, Commercial Paper, Family Law, Federal Practice and Procedure, Georgia Practice and Procedure, Non-Monetary Remedies, Professional Ethics, Secured Transactions, Trusts, Wills and Estates, Contracts, Criminal Law and Procedure, Constitutional Law, Evidence, Real Property, and Torts.

What’s the minimum score for MPRE?

A scaled score of 75 on the MPRE is required for admission.

How is the exam scored?

MBE and written scores are scaled and combined to determine if a minimum passing score of 270 was achieved. A minimum MBE score of 115 must be achieved.

When are the results released?

Results are released in late May for the February exam and in late October for the July exam.

Can I transfer my MBE scores from another jurisdiction?

Georgia does not accept MBE scores from other jurisdictions.

What about reciprocity across states?

In order to be eligible for admission without taking the Georgia Bar Exam, the applicant must be a member of a reciprocating state bar and have engaged in the active practice of law for 5 of the 7 years immediately preceding the application. The applicant must also meet education requirements.
