What is Brown v. Board of Education?

A landmark, unanimous (9-0) decision of the U.S. Supreme Court wherein the Court ruled that segregated schools were unconstitutional, and that "separate but equal" educational facilities allowed by state statute were inherently unequal and unconstitutional, in violation of the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.
