A person who consults with a lawyer about the obtaining a client-lawyer relationship regarding a matter is a prospective client. A lawyer who has learned information from a prospective client could be damaging to an existing client shall not use or reveal that information despite not representing the prospective client, unless both the client and prospective client give informed consent in writing.
