What is Divorce Action?

The complaint or petition filed by a spouse in court asking for a legal dissolution of the marital relationship. Each state's divorce and family law code is unique and must be consulted. The action may or may not involve issues of property division, spousal support, alimony and child custody and support, all of which depends on what the plaintiff asks for in the complaint.
