The Mississippi Bar Exam is a 2-day exam. Day 1 consists of 6 essay questions drafted by the state board, 1 90-min Multistate Performance Test (MPT) question, and six Multistate Essay Exam (MEE) questions. Day 2 is the Multistate Bar Exam (MBE), a 200-question, multiple-choice exam.
Administrative Law, Agency, Bankruptcy, Commercial Paper, Conflict of Laws, Corporations, Domestic Relations, Federal Income Tax, Federal Jurisdiction & Rules of Civil Procedure, MS Constitutional Law, Partnerships, Practice & Procedure of MS Courts, Professional Conduct & Ethics, Sales, Secured Transactions, UCC, Wills, Estates, Trusts & Future Interests, Worker’s Compensation (Prior to exam, Board indicates to all applicants for that exam which subjects will be tested on the portion of the exam prepared by the Board, the order, and time), Contracts, Criminal Law and Procedure, Constitutional Law, Evidence, Real Property, and Torts.
A scaled score of 75 on the MPRE within 24 months before or 12 months after passing the bar exam is required for admission.

MBE is weighted 40%, 6 state essays are weighted 30%, MEE is weighted 15%, and the MPT is weighted 15% of total score. A passing score on the Mississippi bar exam is 132 on a 200-point scale.
Results are released in mid-April for the February exam and in mid-September for the July exam.
Mississippi allows applicants to transfer scaled MBE scores from other jurisdictions if attained within 20 months prior to the Mississippi exam.
In order to be eligible for admission without taking the Mississippi Bar Exam, the applicant must have engaged in the active practice of law for at least 5 years and establish office within 30 days of admission.
