The Montana Bar Exam is a 2-day UBE exam. Day 1 consists of 6 30-minute Multistate Essay Exam questions and 2 90-minute Multistate Performance Test questions. Day 2 is the Multistate Bar Exam (MBE), a 200-question, multiple-choice exam.
Agency, Business Organizations, Civil Procedure, Domestic Relations, Income (Federal) and Estate and Gift (Federal & State) Taxation, MT Constitutional Law, Professional Responsibility (including the Rules of Professional Responsibility and the norms of Professional Conduct), Trusts, Probate & Wills, Guardianships, Conservatorships and Estates, Uniform Commercial Code as adopted in Montana (excluding Articles 5,7, and 8), Workers’ Compensation, Contracts, Criminal Law and Procedure, Constitutional Law, Evidence, Real Property, and Torts.

MBE is weighted 50%, MTEE is 25%, MEE is 30%, and the MPT is 20%. The written scores are scaled and combined with the MBE score to determine if a passing score of 266 was achieved.

Montana does not provide for admission on motion; examination is required of all applicants.
