The Pennsylvania Bar Exam is a 2-day exam. Day 1 consists of two 90-minute Multistate Performance Test (MPT) questions in the AM and 6 30-minute Multistate Essay Exam questions in the PM. Day 2 is the Multistate Bar Exam (MBE), a 200-question, multiple-choice exam (100 questions in the AM, then 100 questions in the PM).

A scaled score of 75 on the MPRE is required for admission.

MBE is worth 45%, the combined essay and PT scaled score are worth 55% of the total 55%, and the scores are scaled and combined to determine if a passing score of 272 was achieved.

In order to be eligible for admission without taking the Pennsylvania Bar Exam, the applicant must be a member of a reciprocating state bar and have engaged in the active practice of law for 5 of the 7 years immediately preceding the application. The applicant must also be a graduate of an ABA accredited law school.
