The Utah Bar Exam is a 2-day exam. Day 1 offers six 30-minute Multistate Essay Exam (MEE) two 90-minute Multistate Performance Test questions (MPT). Day 2 is the Multistate Bar Exam (MBE), a 200-question, multiple-choice exam.
Administrative Law, Agency, Civil Procedure, Conflict of Laws, Corporations, Creditor/Debtor Rights, Estate Planning (including tax aspects), Ethics, Family Law, Partnerships, UCC (Articles 2, 3, and 9), Wills, Trusts & Future Interests, Contracts, Criminal Law and Procedure, Constitutional Law, Evidence, Real Property, and Torts.
A scaled score of 86 on the MPRE prior to or within two years after the bar exam is required for admission.

MBE and written scores are combined to determine if a passing score of 270 was achieved. The MBE is weighted 50%, the MEE 30% and the MPT 20%.
Results are released two months after the bar exam.
Utah accepts MBE scores from other jurisdictions only if from a concurrent bar exam.
Utah may admit attorneys from other jurisdictions under conditions substantially similar to those procedures in reciprocal states. Attorneys who have engaged in the active practice of law for 4 of the 5 years immediately preceding application are not required to take the MBE.
