The West Virginia Bar Exam is a 2-day UBE exam. Day 1 consists of two 90-minute Multistate Performance Test questions (MPT) and six 30-minute Multistate Essay Exam questions (MEE). Day 2 is the Multistate Bar Exam (MBE), a 200-question, multiple-choice exam.
Agency, Commercial Paper, Conflict of Laws, Corporations, Family Law, Federal Civil Procedure, Partnerships, Sales, Secured Transactions, Trusts & Future Interests, Wills, Contracts, Criminal Law and Procedure, Constitutional Law, Evidence, Real Property, and Torts.
A scaled score of 80 on the MPRE within 25 months of passing the bar exam is required for admission.

The total score (MBE weighted 50%, the MEE 30% and the MPT 20%) is scaled and combined to determine if a passing score of 270 was achieved.
Results are released approximately 6-8 weeks after the bar exam.
West Virginia accepts MBE scores from other jurisdictions provided the applicant was successful on the exam and the exam was taken within 13 months of the present exam.
In order to be eligible for admission without taking the West Virginia Bar Exam, the applicant must hail from a jurisdiction with substantially equivalent admission standards, have engaged in the active practice of law for 5 of the 7 years immediately preceding the application, have passed the MPRE, and be a graduate of an ABA accredited law school.
